Re: [Full-disclosure] Call for moderation

Moderating lists tends to slow things down but I have seen other security
related lists begin to get out of hand and moderation was enforced. It
would be nice if people can just get along. Or not get along but for
shorter periods of time.

There is a charter for this list at
http://lists.grok.org.uk/full-disclosure-charter.html (which is in the
mailing list sig).

A couple of sections:

<charter>
Moderation & Management

The [Full-Disclosure] list is unmoderated. Typically posting will be
restricted to members only, however the administrators may choose to accept
submissions from non-members based on individual merit and relevance.

It is expected that the list will be largely self-policing, however in
special circumstances (eg spamming, misappropriation) then offending members
may be removed from the list by the management.

Acceptable Content

Any information pertaining to vulnerabilities is acceptable, for instance
announcement and discussion thereof, exploit techniques and code, related
tools and papers, and other useful information.

Gratuitous advertisement, product placement, or self-promotion is forbidden.
Disagreements, flames, arguments, and off-topic discussion should be taken
off-list wherever possible.
</charter>

Does anyone know if they have actually removed people from the list?

Regarding some previous threads.

Some people just show how low they are !

This is why we need some form of "Code of Conduct" or even better change to
a moderated list.

Otherwise the whole list just gets ruined and will ndeteriate over time.

Heres a call for moderation before it gets too late.

Anything that is too off topic or inflamatory should get junked.
