                            SCO Security Advisory

Subject: OpenServer 5.0.6 OpenServer 5.0.7 : apache mod_digest Incorrect Client Response Verification Vulnerability
    Advisory number: SCOSA-2004.14
    Issue date: 2004 August 31
    Cross reference: sr889564 fz528952 erg712565 CAN-2003-0987
    ______________________________________________________________________________

    1. Problem Description

Dirk-Willem van Gulik has reported a vulnerability in Apache
mod_digest. mod_digest does not properly verify the nonce
of a client response. A remote user may be able to replay
a response to be authenticated in certain cases.

The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures project (cve.mitre.org)
has assigned the name CAN-2003-0987 to this issue.

    2. Vulnerable Supported Versions
