ee cummings would praise you. however, the rest of the world uses
a different style book. that style book capitalizes some things. in particular,
the first word of sentences, and proper nouns like 'len rose'. i do however
wonder what happens if you have a posting of c code that contains:
if (foo[0] == 'c') { ...
the stdio 'file *' declaration would have issues too. but we can work around
those somehow...
