Note that only 4.2-RELEASE patches are verified by me to apply without
error; I'd appreciate any feedback as to the success or failure of the
others.

As an aside, I had asked this before, but didn't get what I felt was a
definitive answer: 1) Is it appropriate to post these announcements to
