Neither is as effective as sharing information about the quality
of a snapshot among a large pool of administrators and testers.
If this is not done, the snapshot won't be tested under a sufficient
variety of conditions to flush out problems.

How about a group of volunteers who do it for their mutual benefit? Sort
of like some software projects I've heard of.... Gee, their names seem
to be escaping me at the moment. ;-)
