I think the _real_ question is..."WTF?"

Well I got one recently (got bored) and I don't recall any secret
initiations or elk lodges. As I recall it went something like "Don't be an
idiot, don't do illegal or unprofessional stuff and don't diss the CISSP".

That hardly qualifies as "canon" IMO, and I find the term (with its
    religious overtones) quite...troubling.

OK. Why don't you explain what _you_ think the conflicting CISSP and 2600 /
Hacktivismo positions are, and then we can play ball.

(Paul likes Big Endian footnotes, apparently. :)

I think you're going to have to set out the basics of transcendental
philosophy in general versus the empirical sciences here before you get any
meaningful feedback. It's stretching a _lot_ to assume a grounding in this
    stuff for respondants.

A quick precis on how the _FSCK_ you think this impacts network security
    would be for bonus points.

Let me put it a different way. I think you might have more luck with making
your request understandable to everyone if you tried to phrase it in terms
we non-academic mortals might understand and leave out the abstract
    philosophy.

    Cheers,

    ben
