Visio 2003 does not support discovery.
They claim it is an 'improvement'. (This explains how my cat feels
    about being 'fixed')

    Long answer is here:
    http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/preview.aspx?AssetID=HA010935581033&C
    TT=1&Origin=TC010498121033&QueryID=NPn4md6BU

A similar thing to look into is Ostivity by Somix (www.somix.com)
It is an asset management system. At one time it was no charge for
small networks (not sure of the current status). It gets into a lot more
detail - such as what software is installed on each system. (License
    management)

    Best,

    Rich

Visio 2000 Professional Used to be able to and still may. It had a Network
Discovery piece that read from SNMP.

However the devices had to have SNMP on.

    Just my .02 cents.

    Hi,

Does anybody know any tool that is able to "draw" the network topology,
with firewalls, routers and user's desktops?

    Thanks in advance,

    vmm.
