There would be some quite fine quality code available, but there would also
be some code that would be mass produced, of sometimes questionable quality,

and sold at "Discount" stores called, say, 'Wal-Code.'[1] at Everyday Low
    Prices. ;-)

Higher quality code could, too, be purchased, but at the code maker's
shop, say Joe's Code Shoppe[1]. They would charge a considerably higher
    price,
but provide considerably higher quality. Well, higher initial cost, that
is, but less maintenance and upkeep over the long term, just like a good
table and chairs set purchased from a fine quality furniture maker costs
less in the long run because one doesn't have to keep regluing the chairs
to keep the backs from falling off, or keep rebuying new chairs because
they are of such poor quality they cannot be fixed.

As others have stated, until the Wal-Code code sits unsold on the shelves
because the consumer(s!) won't accept the poor quality, the crap will
    continue
    to proliferate.[2]

[1] Any names used herein are purely fictional and should bear no

[2] Nothing in particular, I just like Paul's way of foot noting...;-)

At some point, Carroll, Shawn spewed:
